GENERAL PHILOSOPHY
We, the members of the St. Edmund School community, believe that a faith community is the gathering of the body of Jesus bound together by His message of salvation. Because of love for the Lord, we are committed to serve Him in each other. In this atmosphere of community and service, we proclaim Jesus’ message to our students, their parents, and their teachers. We believe that by leading our students to this ideal of community, service, and the proclamation of Jesus’ message as expressed by the Catholic Church, we will advance the cause of God’s kingdom in Eunice among the people of all races, creeds, and religions by instilling a knowledge and an appreciation of all cultures. Therefore, the principle objective and the reason for the existence of St. Edmund Catholic School is to provide for the spiritual, educational, and social formation of our students within the context of the living Faith Community and to make this formation available to as many as is feasibly possible.

DISCIPLINE
One of the most important lessons education should teach is discipline. While it does not constitute a subject, it underlies the whole educational structure. It is the training that develops self-control, character, orderliness, efficiency, and the ability to cope with the responsibilities of adult life. All students have the obligation to represent St. Edmund School in a positive manner, both in school and at school-sponsored activities. Student must remember that wherever they are they carry the reputation of the school with them. Students who may become involved in any grave violation of discipline and/or serious public misconduct that brings discredit to this school could be subject to suspension or expulsion. Since there can be no character formation without training in discipline, St. Edmund School students must conform to all regulations and expectations which are devised for the welfare of the whole student body.
